1. Proficiency in Teaching Strategies – In this program, you’ll analyze learning theories and their application in a classroom setting. You’ll learn the process of planning for and choosing effective instructional strategies to enhance student learning and how to effectively and appropriately integrate different types of technology into the instructional process.
2. Classroom Management – You’ll grasp the major theories animating educational and classroom management at the micro and macro levels. Topics will include: student behavior, discussion of effective classroom rules and procedures, school safety, parental involvement and strategies for creating a positive, safe environment to meet the needs of all students.
3. Practical Knowledge of Educational Psychology – Examine learning theories and models of teaching with particular attention to examining the philosophical, developmental and psychological roots of various approaches. In doing so, you’ll more accurately assess current trends in schooling and the psychological and cultural foundations behind them.
